Hiring without a recruitment agency
Signal are an IT Solutions Specialist based near Bristol, providing managed support, professional services and consultancy, cybersecurity, and business IT transformation. They are experts in their field.
They offer excellent service and need to grow their internal support team to meet the growing demand for their services offering. They were finding good staff but not always the right staff, which has been hampering their growth.
They had used recruitment firms to help them in the past, but as we all know, using a recruiter does not always deliver the right people.
We offered them an alternative solution. We re-wrote their job advert and helped them post it on Jobopoly (A South West Specific Job Board). There is a way to write adverts that attracts the type of employees you need.
The advert delivered 26 potentially good people. The GM called each candidate for a brief conversation and then invited them to take the SmartQuestionnaire©. We created a Job Success Formula, which lists the essential behavioural traits for their specific role, desirable “cherry on the cake” traits and very importantly, the traits to avoid.
Once the candidate has completed the SmartQuestionnaire© we then measure and compare the data, which predicts how likely a success an individual will be for their job role in the form of a percentage. Anyone with a score over 75%+ are invited in for an interview.
Using this process, they have hired 3 new staff members without using a recruitment company, saved hours interviewing unsuitable people and are extremely pleased and confident that their new team members are the right ones.
All this cost them 80% less than using a recruitment company for the three hires.
